I’m Exhausted
I collapse on the couch—
Brain foggy.
Body heavy.
Aches and pains like I’ve just run a marathon.
The fridge is empty—just like it always was growing up.
My heart feels hollow—just like it always has been.
My neck so tired it may as well be strangled,
Pressed against the bathroom wall, feet dangling,
Just like I was.
My mind, full of piercing thoughts.
